The plate-unveiling ceremony for Huzhou Open University was held in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 29.

Its predecessor, Huzhou Radio and Television University, which was founded in 1979, has developed a lifelong education system that has cultivated more than 100,000 vocational talents.

The new university, which will be co-built by Huzhou Vocational & Technical College, will strive to be the largest open education platform in northern Zhejiang and a nationally influential base to cultivate rural vitalization talents.
