Four Danish expatriates recently set off on a journey to Nanxun Ancient Town, a renowned scenic destination in Huzhou, Zhejiang province.

As one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan, a region in the south of the Yangtze River, Nanxun is celebrated for its rich history and breathtaking landscapes. During their visit, the group was captivated by a demonstration of traditional techniques used to craft the Huzhou writing brush, an item of national intangible cultural heritage.

Casper Tollerud, general manager of a Danish company's Shanghai branch, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "This is my second visit to Nanxun Ancient Town. I particularly admire the architectural marvels and the water town lifestyle of Jiangnan." He also mentioned their intention to edit the captured footage, aiming to help people in the Nordic countries better understand the cultural history of Nanxun, with the ultimate goal of attracting more Nordic tourists to come experience the enchanting water town lifestyle of Jiangnan.

In addition to exploring Nanxun, the delegation also ventured to Digang village, renowned for its mulberry fish ponds. These ponds employ a unique dike-pond model that integrates fish farming with the breeding of mulberry silkworms. In recognition of its significance, the model was designated as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2017.
