Huzhou's project to pilot the standardized ESG (environmental, social, and governance) evaluation for small and micro enterprises has recently received official endorsement.

This groundbreaking initiative stands as one of only two ESG evaluation projects sanctioned for financial institutions nationwide and the sole endeavor of its kind within Zhejiang province.

Taking the lead, Huzhou aims to enlist the participation of local financial institutions in the pilot project, integrating ESG principles into the entire lifecycle service and management of bank credit businesses. The primary objective is to distill the unique ESG practices observed within Huzhou's banking institutions and to establish tailored ESG evaluation standards for small and micro enterprises, thereby setting a benchmark for companies across the country.

Additionally, the city will actively champion the innovation and development of financial products linked to ESG by financial institutions, with the collective efforts directed towards fortifying the green and sustainable development of small and micro enterprises.
