The rail-laying work for the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway reached a significant milestone on the morning of March 21 as it extended from Suzhou in Jiangsu province to Huzhou in Zhejiang province.

The development paves the way for the line's anticipated operation by the end of this year.

The railway line, spanning across Shanghai, Suzhou, and Huzhou, has a total length of approximately 163.8 kilometers. It is designed to operate at a speed of 350 km/h and encompasses eight strategically positioned railway stations along its route.

Once fully operational, the new railway is poised to play a pivotal role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region by substantially enhancing transportation connectivity between major cities in the area.
