Huzhou launches promotion conference in Paris, strengthening Sino-French relations
In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Huzhou took a significant step towards fostering stronger ties by organizing a city promotion event in Paris, France on April 23.
The event is Huzhou's first city promotion event to be held in a European country this year and is intended to deepen economic and trade cooperation as well as promote development on both sides.
The event was attended by a number of luminaries, including Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in France Chen Li, former French Minister of the Interior Bruno Le Roux, and Huzhou Party Chief Chen Hao.
Chen Li, representing the Chinese Embassy in France, offered his congratulations on the event and highlighted Huzhou's progress in urban construction, rural vitalization, industrial development, and ecological environment. He emphasized that the city has come a long way, serving as a microcosm of the creation of a beautiful China. He expressed hope that the event would serve as a catalyst for strengthening exchanges, deepening cooperation, and contributing to the sustained development of Sino-French friendly relations.
Bruno Le Roux welcomed the city promotion event, noting the significance of this year's 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. He emphasized that the event provided attendees with a deeper appreciation of Huzhou's beauty and its achievements in recent years. He expressed excitement for further exchanges and cooperation between relevant French entities and their counterparts in Huzhou. Additionally, he expressed a willingness to facilitate more visits from France to Huzhou, enabling them to experience firsthand the city's beautiful natural environment, rich cultural heritage, and robust economic development.
Chen Hao extended a warm welcome to the event's attendees, underscoring the historic ties between Huzhou and France. He referenced the establishment of the first Chinese company in Europe by Huzhou businessman Zhang Jingjiang in Paris in 1904, which played a pivotal role in Sino-European trade cooperation. He emphasized that the purpose of hosting the city promotion event in Paris was to collectively seek new opportunities for cooperation.
