Huzhou has recently been listed among the top 10 most livable cities in China, alongside the cities of Guangzhou, Dalian, Hefei, Chengdu, Kunming, Yibin, Weihai, Changzhou, and Xiamen.

The list was unveiled in Chengdu, Sichuan province on May 21 and is the result of a comprehensive survey conducted as part of a collaborative initiative launched in 2006. The initiative involves key organizations such as China Central Television, the National Bureau of Statistics, China Post Group Co Ltd., and the National Development Institute of Peking University.

Over the past 18 years, the survey has been carried out in over 150 cities and 300 counties nationwide, with the participation of 100,000 families. It is the largest-scale survey of public sentiment globally to date.
