Global elite universities converge in Huzhou for water sports event

The 2024 International Elite Universities Water Sports Open set sail on June 1 at the Xishanyang Scenic Area located in Wuxing district, Huzhou.
More than 20 prestigious universities from across the world, including Peking, Tsinghua, Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge, alongside 11 primary and secondary schools, assembled teams to partake in the event.
Spanning two days, the event features a variety of competitions, including a 12-person 200-meter dragon boat race, a 200-meter leisure kayak race, and an eight-person rowing performance race.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities such as Du Jiangfeng, president of Zhejiang University, Chen Hao, Party chief of Huzhou, Chen Zhiyu, director of the Science and Education Department of the General Administration of Sport of China, Liu Lixin, chairman of the China Student Sports Federation, and Chen Guangsheng, director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism.
