Jiang Jijian from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, and his teammate Liu Shuang claimed the silver medal in the PR2 Mixed Double Sculls final with a time of 8 minutes 23.45 seconds at the Paris Paralympic Games on Sept 1.

As the final began, the two athletes shot out like arrows from the starting line. They rowed vigorously over the water's expansive surface, displaying excellent teamwork and ultimately securing a second-place finish.

Born in 1992, Jiang, despite his disabled legs, has demonstrated talent in rowing with his long arms and strong upper body. His career as an athlete began when he was selected for the Zhejiang rowing team at the age of 23.

At the 4th Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou last year, Jiang's outstanding performance clinched him the championship in the PR2 Mixed Double Sculls event, bringing Huzhou the first gold medal of the Asian Para Games.

Jiang's silver medal at the Paris Paralympics represents the best performance by a Huzhou athlete with disabilities on the Paralympic stage.
