The "Bank of Jiangsu 2024 Tour of Taihu Lake" cycling race is set to be held from Oct 9 to 13, according to a news conference held in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Sept 9.

The event spans 529.5 kilometers and crosses through five areas, including Changxing county in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, attracting a total of 132 athletes from 22 global top teams.

Since 2010, the Tour of Taihu Lake has been held 11 times, evolving into a UCI professional series event. It has united cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang and promoted cycling across the Yangtze River Delta.

This year's race offers a panoramic view of rivers, lakes, and the sea. The event will start in Wuxi and Suzhou in Jiangsu, before moving to Huzhou, and then finally to Nantong and Nanjing in Jiangsu, blending regional features and cultural landscapes.

The race not only promotes cycling but also fosters regional exchanges in economy, culture, and tourism, benefiting all involved, said Gu Ye, chairman of Jiangsu Sports Industry Group Co.

The 4th part of the race, to be held in Huzhou, will take place on Oct 12.
