Huzhou awarded Culture City of East Asia 2025

The 15th China-Japan-South Korea Cultural Ministers' Meeting was held in Kyoto, Japan, on Sept 12. Huzhou and Macao Special Administrative Region in China, Kamakura in Japan, and Anseong in South Korea were awarded the Culture Cities of East Asia 2025.
The Culture City of East Asia program, launched in 2013, aims to enhance cultural and tourism cooperation among the three countries. Each year, China, Japan, and South Korea will name one to two cities from each country as the Culture Cities of East Asia.
Hong Hupeng, mayor of Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, expressed Huzhou's pride and motivation in securing the title, emphasizing the city's commitment to hosting a unique series of activities as a Culture City of East Asia and participating in national-level foreign cultural and tourism exchanges.
Since its inception, 39 cities have been recognized as Culture Cities of East Asia, with 17 Chinese cities, including Chengdu, Qingdao, Huzhou, and Macao, receiving the esteemed distinction to date.
