Intangible cultural heritage exhibition in Huzhou becomes tourist magnet

The Intangible Cultural Heritages of China Exhibition Hall in Digang Ancient Town, Nanxun district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, saw its visitors reaching 100,000 on Dec 1, the 100th day since its opening. This achievement has solidified its status as a burgeoning cultural and tourism hotspot in the region.
As the nation's first exhibition space showcasing intangible cultural heritage, the hall presents intangible cultural heritage items from 11 provinces and autonomous regions, including Zhejiang, Hebei, Yunnan, and Shaanxi, and over 160 works from 81 practitioners including 111 representative national-level intangible cultural heritage works.
In addition to being a hub for heritage preservation and tourism, the exhibition hall also plays a pivotal role in education. It has hosted over 200 youth study groups, totaling more than 15,000 participants. Over 100 courses have been developed to involve students in intangible heritage craftsmanship, according to Yao Song, director of the hall.
This cultural hub has also significantly boosted tourism in Digang Ancient Town, drawing over 850,000 visitors this year. Through exhibitions, experiences, and a variety of derivative products, the hall continues to amplify the charm and influence of Chinese culture on the global stage.
