As the Spring Festival draws near, hotels and homestays in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, are witnessing a surge in bookings for the Spring Festival holiday.
The Dreamlohas Resort Hotel, nestled within the picturesque Moganshan scenic area in Deqing county, is bustling with inquiries about room availability for the holiday period. Hotel manager Jiang Jinhui revealed that over 40 percent of the hotel's 87 rooms have already been booked.
The hotel provides guests with detailed guides for viewing the sunrise and clouds, allowing them to enjoy stunning scenery right from their rooms. Jiang expects the occupancy rates during this Spring Festival to exceed last year's 90 percent.
The trend of "celebrating the New Year in homestays" has gained popularity of late, with rural homestay bookings surging. In Guzhu village, Changxing county, Zha Qingyue, manager of Youhuangli Tea Culture Homestay, has been busy preparing for traditional New Year activities.
Zha mentioned that rooms during Spring Festival are already almost fully booked, with some guests even reserving before the National Day holiday.
Guzhu village boasts over 500 restaurants and homestays, making it the largest rural restaurant and homestay cluster in northern Zhejiang and the top destination for many tourists in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In order to attract and retain more visitors, Zha has designed some unique experiential activities, including tea-picking and tea-making activities for families and exchange events themed on tea art. Every year, almost 10,000 visitors come here to experience tea culture and the homestay.
In response to the expected influx of tourists during Spring Festival, homestay operators in Huzhou are enhancing their offerings to attract more visitors seeking a unique holiday experience.
