As the opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway approaches, Nanxun district in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is gearing up to offer visitors an enhanced experience with complimentary access to key attractions.

At a news conference on Dec 20, Nanxun district unveiled a new initiative effective immediately. Visitors spending 200 yuan ($27.40) or more on accommodation in the district can enjoy free entry to six paid attractions within Nanxun Ancient Town and discounts at partnering stores.

Nanxun Ancient Town made waves last year by permanently opening a 2.18-square-kilometer area to tourists at no cost, leading to a substantial uptick in visitors. The new initiative aims to attract more overnight tourists to the entire Nanxun region, not just the ancient town.

Participating hotels include 29 leading accommodation enterprises from various towns in the district and 13 provincial-level or higher-graded homestays.

Through enhanced preferential policies, Nanxun invites more tourists to experience the charm of the water town.
