Huzhou's Yishang Street shines with intangible cultural heritage

Yishang Street Historical and Cultural Block in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, was recently listed among the first batch of intangible cultural heritage-themed blocks in the province.
Yishang Street features 10 intangible cultural heritage items, encompassing a diverse array of traditional skills, folk customs, and traditional medicine practices. Among these are the nationally acclaimed "sugar painting" as well as five provincial-level and four municipal-level intangible cultural heritage items.
Serving as a crucial platform for preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage, cultural venues within the block routinely host exhibitions and interactive experiences, captivating a large number of people.
This year, a total of 32 cultural events have been organized, attracting a remarkable turnout of over 1 million attendees. The Huzhou Writing Brush Cultural Festival and the Cultural Tourism Life Festival spotlighted local cultural creative products, intangible heritage skill demonstrations, and cultural exhibitions, offering participants a chance to delve into Huzhou's traditional crafts and cultural heritage while experiencing the unique allure of intangible cultural heritage.
