The third session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the third session of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress commenced on Jan 13 and 14. Anji county in Huzhou caught attention by supplying bamboo place cards at the meeting venue and bamboo daily supplies to the accommodations of deputies and members.

Anji county, leveraging its bamboo forest resources, has pioneered the nationwide implementation of the Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic Initiative. The display of Anji's bamboo products at the provincial two sessions not only showcased the county's achievements in bamboo industry but also promoted the environmental ethos of replacing plastic with bamboo.

During the event, Anji set up lifestyle, leisure, and office scenarios in several hotels for deputies and members to exhibit the green allure of its bamboo products, attracting much attention. Many praised Anji's commitment to the green initiative, recognizing its practice as a novel solution to plastic pollution with promising prospects for widespread adoption.

Behind the innovative bamboo products stands a team of 46 experts led by four academicians, providing consulting for the bamboo industry. Anji has encouraged bamboo product companies to invest more in research and development, driving the industry toward higher quality and design standards.
