Intangible cultural heritage carnival hits Huzhou's streets

An intangible cultural heritage carnival was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, on Feb 9, with 39 teams and 750 performers presenting intangible cultural heritage performances that transformed the city streets into a moving tapestry of folklore.
The parade commenced with dragon and lion dance troupes. The performers' agile and captivating movements vividly portrayed the strength of traditional folk customs. The fish lanterns and horse lanterns in particular, with their lively designs, symbolized auspicious meanings.
Alongside the traditional folk teams, a group of international performers also took part in the carnival, dazzling the audience with their yangko dance.

The parade spanned 1.55 kilometers with pauses at iconic locations. The fusion of traditional arts and street festivities painted a heartwarming picture of the New Year celebration, capturing the essence of cultural vibrancy in Huzhou.
