A drone carrying medical samples completed its journey on Feb 28 in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, from the Tianzihu Town Central Health Center in Anji county to the county's People's Hospital in just around 20 minutes.

This marked the start of the Anji medical supplies drone transportation route, showing the efficient implementation of the "low-altitude + medical" application scenario.

The 20-kilometer route, with a flight time of about 20 minutes, utilized a drone capable of carrying up to 10 kilograms.

The initiative was a collaborative effort between the Anji County Transportation Investment Group and the county's Health Bureau. "It established a safe and efficient aerial transportation channel for medical supplies between the two healthcare facilities," said Yin Ying, deputy general manager of the group.

With landing points at the two healthcare locations, the low-altitude infrastructure is steadily improving. The launch of a dedicated WeChat mini-program further facilitates the process, as noted by Huang Jie, director of the Inspection Department at Tianzihu Town Central Health Center.

The drone delivery system not only ensures a rapid response but also significantly reduces labor and time costs compared to traditional ground transportation methods. Wang Gang, vice-president of Anji County People's Hospital, said that drones cut the delivery time between the Tianzihu area and the People's Hospital in half.

Looking ahead, the Anji County Transportation Investment Group plans to expand the application of drones in various sectors such as forestry inspections, construction site monitoring, dust control, and emergency response, further enhancing low-altitude infrastructure and benefiting residents with increased convenience.
