Huzhou Fengyuan Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing Co, located in Wuxing district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, was abuzz with activity on March 7 as workers prepared a consignment of grain harvesters bound for Indonesia.

Company Chairman Luo Baikang said the company had experienced a huge upsurge in orders, with current Indonesian orders already five times the total of the entire previous year.

The popularity of Fengyuan's intelligent harvesters in the Indonesian market came in the wake of an endorsement from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

During an inspection of Indonesian agricultural projects at the end of last year, he personally operated one of the harvesters, praising its performance, level of intelligence, and adaptability.

"With over 20 years of technical expertise in agricultural machinery and an annual R&D investment exceeding 6.5 percent, our products have established a strong presence across 12 provinces and over 100 cities and counties in China, earning a stellar reputation," said Luo.

Capitalizing on the opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative in the past two years, the company has ventured into international markets, especially customizing its products to suit the deep and sticky soil of the Southeast Asian region.

By adjusting the harvester's tracks and chassis, the company has increased their operational efficiency by 30 percent, and structural improvements to the rotary tiller have reduced soil disturbance as they work.

The company has already secured orders for 400 units in Indonesia this year, with contracts exceeding 50 million yuan ($6.91 million).

"The agricultural machinery exports are projected to surpass 1,000 units this year," Luo added.
