The "Changshuo Study" cafe in Zhangwu town in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, has become a hotspot.

With rope lights embellished with poems hanging from the bamboo woven ceiling, the cafe features an area with various cultural and creative products like fridge magnets and notebooks. "There is also a handmade experience area on the second floor where visitors can engage in activities like fan printing," said Lin Jiani, manager of the cafe.

Zhangwu town, renowned as the birthplace and childhood residence of art master Wu Changshuo (1844-1927), has been revitalized according to Changshuo culture. By fostering new forms of cultural tourism integration, the town has successfully attracted a younger demographic, infusing fresh vitality into its age-old charm.

In addition to cultural heritage sites such as Wu Changshuo's former residence, the town has introduced interesting businesses like rural taverns, live-action role-playing games, and humanistic art hotels, blending deep-rooted culture with a contemporary appeal to engage locals and tourists.

Furthermore, the town has also attracted several high-quality projects. The Moon Lake Resort Hotel project, with a total investment of 1.19 billion yuan ($164.41 million), is under construction, according to Wang Kai, deputy head of the town.

Designed to harmonize with the environment and cultural heritage, the resort aims to cater to vacationers, study tours, and team-building activities, promising to boost the development of surrounding infrastructure and related industries upon completion.
