Joysun Bicycle Manufactory Co in Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, has been preparing a batch of bicycles for overseas shipment, Tide News reported on March 17.

The global shift towards eco-friendly transportation has significantly boosted the popularity of cycling, driving up sales across related products.

Huzhou Customs reported that the city's bicycle exports soared by 63.4 percent to around 30 million yuan ($4.15 million) in the first two months of the year.

Joysun Bicycle specializes in the research and production of road bikes, mountain bikes, and children's bikes, and has built a strong international customer base.

"We have customers in many countries and regions, including South Korea and Australia," said Liang Weijuan, the company's foreign trade manager. By staying attuned to consumer preferences and investing in innovative product development, the company has seen continuous growth in exports.

In January alone, Joysun Bicycle's exports reached 11.3 million yuan, marking a remarkable 107 percent year-on-year surge, according to Liang.

To support local businesses in capitalizing on the cycling trend, Huzhou Customs provides tailored assistance, helping clarify complex issues like tariff rates and rules of origin under free trade agreements.

By leveraging certificates of origin from free trade agreements with Australia and South Korea, Joysun Bicycle has enhanced its competitiveness in global markets by reducing tariffs on its bicycles.
