5,000 runners race in Huzhou for 2025 Anji Half Marathon

The 2025 Anji Half Marathon was held on April 20 in Anji county in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

Nearly 5,000 runners from across China and over 10 countries, including Kenya and Ethiopia, gathered for this vibrant event, celebrating a harmonious journey with nature.

The marathon started and ended at the "Two Mountains" Future Science and Technology City Cultural and Art Center, nestled within the Lingfeng National Tourist Resort in Anji.

The course offered runners stunning views of the valley, blooming canola flowers, tea fields, and terraced fields. This event was more than just a race; it was a deep engagement with Anji's natural splendor.

The event featured a 21.10-kilometer half-marathon and a 6-km fun run, catering to both experienced athletes and casual runners.

Both from Kenya, runners Waweru Daniel Irungu and Kuria Mary Wangari triumphed in the men's and women's half-marathon categories with impressive times of 1 hr 7 min 35 sec and 1 hr 21 min 48 sec, respectively.

Chinese runners Hao Hongpeng and Wang Zhenyan secured second place in the men's and women's half-marathon categories, while Meng Junyao and Liu Juan claimed third in their categories.
