Smart industrial park to boost food industry in Huzhou

McDonald's in China commenced construction on its Zhejiang Smart Supply Chain Industrial Park on May 26 in Nanxun district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, which is set to begin operating by early 2027.

The new park is located in the Yangtze River Delta Future Food Industrial Park, which focuses on food processing, cold chain logistics, tourist exhibitions, brand development, and tech innovation. It aims to promote the high-quality development of the food industry in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The first phase of the new park, spanning approximately 58,000 square meters and with an investment of around 400 million yuan ($55.59 million), will host key suppliers like XH Supply Chain and Bimbo. It aims to integrate scale advantages, smart operations, and green principles, establishing a pivotal node in McDonald's smart supply chain.

The park will feature multiple intelligent production lines, including cold chain processing, food packaging, and warehousing logistics, covering the entire supply chain from raw material processing to product delivery. It's expected to bolster McDonald's growth in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Designed and constructed to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards, the park will employ production line optimization and digital monitoring systems to boost production efficiency and product quality while reducing energy consumption, promoting a green, low-carbon approach.
