Huzhou GDP grows 6.3% in H1 of 2025
Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province reported robust economic performance in the first half of 2025, with its GDP reaching 208.04 billion yuan ($29.09 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent.
The city's GDP growth rate surpassed the national and provincial growth rates by 1.0 and 0.5 percentage points, respectively.
In the six months, its agricultural production showed a positive trend, with the total output of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries reaching 14.77 billion yuan, representing a 4.5 percent year-on-year increase.
Industry remained a key driver of Huzhou's economy. Out of 33 major industrial sectors, 24 reported growth in added value during the first half of the year.
The service sector maintained stability. The information transmission, software, and information technology services sector reported an increase of 19.2 percent in added value. Wholesale and retail, accommodation and catering, finance, and other profit-oriented services also saw steady growth.
From January to June, fixed asset investment rose by 6.6 percent, surpassing the provincial growth rate by 5.2 percentage points.
The consumer market improved in the same period, with total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 93 billion yuan, up 5.1 percent.
In the first half, foreign trade remained resilient, with exports totaling 86.16 billion yuan, a 7.3 percent increase, slightly ahead of the national growth rate.
Residents' incomes also saw steady growth in the same period, with per capita disposable income reaching 38,432 yuan, a 5.9 percent increase.
