Huzhou's green energy storage sector expands global reach

Zhejiang Tianhong Lithium Battery Company, based in Changxing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, recently exported a shipment of lithium-ion battery modules valued at 2.51 million yuan ($349,141).

With its thriving battery sector, Changxing county is seeing its exporters accelerate their innovation and green energy transformation, enhancing both environmental sustainability and economic value.

In the first half of the year, Huzhou Customs issued 2,471 hazardous package usage certifications for lithium-ion battery exports, a 54 percent year-on-year increase.

Zhejiang Tianhong focuses on power and energy storage lithium-ion battery modules, primarily for the overseas electrically assisted vehicles market. Business is booming and the company's lithium-ion battery exports recorded a 14 percent year-on-year increase in the first half of the year.

"Our newly developed energy storage lithium-ion batteries use liquid cooling technology, offering high energy efficiency, enhanced safety, and smart temperature control, with 24-hour monitoring," said Fei Ju, a foreign trade specialist of Zhejiang Tianhong. These batteries have applications in commercial and residential energy storage.

The Huzhou-based Zhejiang Anli Energy Company, a leader in sodium-ion storage batteries, is also expanding internationally.

"The sodium-ion battery market has great potential," said Xu Tao, the company's general manager, noting a 58 percent export growth in the first half of the year, with new ventures developing in the Middle East and in Southeast Asia.
