Huzhou claims first victory in ZheBA's City Championship

The City Championship of the 2025 Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League commenced with a thrilling match on Aug 16 at the Deqing County Sports Center in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, where the Huzhou team faced off against the Taizhou team.

Despite a challenging start, the Huzhou team managed a comeback, clinching a 72-67 victory over Taizhou, to the delight of the packed 3,000-seat arena.

Beyond the court, a themed market featured over 400 local products, cultural displays, and performances, creating a lively atmosphere for the fans. Taizhou city also displayed its local products, boosting the event's festive spirit.

As the largest and most prestigious amateur basketball event in the province, the Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League — also known as "ZheBA" — is set to run from July 2025 to February 2026, featuring teams from 90 counties (including county-level cities and districts) across the province's 11 cities.

The competition includes preliminary rounds and the City Championship. Preliminary rounds in each city concluded by July 2025, while the City Championship started on Aug 8.

Through the Huzhou division's preliminary rounds, the champion team, the Changxing team, and the city-level joint team, the Huzhou team, represent Huzhou in the City Championship of the "ZheBA".
