The 2025 Moganshan Natural Dye Art Field Season kicked off in Moganshan International Tourist Resort in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, on Oct 12.

The event features four main sections: land art installations, a static exhibition, a fashion show, and an art market, drawing over 100 natural dye artists, designers, and enthusiasts eager to experience the charm of plant-based dyeing culture.

The fusion of sports and fashion with nature is the highlight of this event. On the opening day, a running activity featured participants in plant-dyed outfits running through the lush Mogan Mountain. Simultaneously, a fashion show near Gelien Waterfall displayed plant-dyed garments crafted by artists and students, blending flowing fabrics with the natural beauty of the waterfall.

Xu Zhiwei, chairman of Zhejiang Baden Textile Co — one of the organizers, highlighted Mogan Mountain's unique environment as the perfect setting. He expressed hope that the event would bridge intangible cultural heritage with modern fashion and industry.

Hua Shan, director of the intangible cultural heritage department at the China National Textile and Apparel Council, praised the event for combining traditional techniques with modern design and outdoor sports, calling it a groundbreaking way to integrate traditional culture into contemporary life.

The event will run until Nov 11, with land art installations permanently remaining in Mogan Mountain as a new cultural landscape.
