The 2025 Taihu Lake Pearl-Changxing Fair on Promoting Cooperation in Science, Technology, and Talent was held on Oct 25 in Changxing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The event resulted in the signing of 49 projects, totaling an investment of 25.97 billion yuan ($3.65 billion). These projects span smart vehicles, new energy, intelligent equipment, new materials, and cultural tourism, which are set to fuel Changxing's development.

Celebrating its 24th year, the fair has served as a key platform for attracting high-quality projects and investment.

Innovation is central to Changxing's industrial development. Traditional industries are revitalized through technological upgrades, such as the Chilwee Group's advancements in sodium-ion battery ecosystems. Meanwhile, emerging sectors are gaining traction, exemplified by Zhejiang Tongyuankang Medicines, whose newly developed "9591" drug is set for mass production.

The smart vehicle industry is thriving in Changxing, with Geely's presence in the county significantly accelerating the industry's rapid growth.

In the cultural tourism sector, the 99-kilometer Taihu No 9 Road scenic route connects 34 km of the Taihu Lake shoreline, 88 villages, and 111 cultural sites, serving as a major driver of local tourism and industrial development.

By integrating industry, culture, and tourism, Changxing has improved livability and reduced the urban-rural income gap to 1.49:1, below the provincial average.
