Huzhou sees winter tourism boom during New Year's Day holiday
Huzhou in Zhejiang province saw a winter tourism boom during the New Year's Day holiday from Jan 1 to 3.
Huzhou has become a popular holiday destination for skiing enthusiasts in Jiangnan, the region along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. According to Trip, one of the country's biggest online travel agencies, the Yunshang Caoyuan (Cloud Meadow) scenic area in Anji county, a wildly popular winter destination, saw a 930 percent year-on-year increase in tourism orders.
The scenic area features the only professionally designed advanced ski slope in East China and the largest alpine outdoor ski area in Jiangnan. Visitors flocking to the resort can ski, enjoy stunning winter landscapes, and relax in hot springs.
"The ski resort has eight slopes, catering to beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers alike," said Li Mingyu, director of event planning at Yunshang Caoyuan.

In Deqing county's Bubuxiong Eco-Farm, artificial snow covers the grass, transforming it into a popular winter theme park.
"The opening of the winter theme park has created a winter tourism boom, with the eco-farm receiving over 4,000 visits on Jan 2," said the farm's manager.
