Inner Mongolia Arts University builds new campus

According to a report from Xinhua, Inner Mongolia Arts University started constructing its new campus on Oct 12.

The new campus will be located in Inner Mongolia Horinger Economic Development Zone in Hohhot, the capital city of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. It has a total planned area of 685 mu (45.67 hectares) and is scheduled to be put into use in 2022.

The phase-one project will cover 485 mu and become the main campus of Inner Mongolia Arts University.

At a groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus held on Oct 12, Inner Mongolia Arts University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the management committee of Inner Mongolia Horinger Economic Development Zone.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in personnel training, scientific research, cultural industry development, innovation and entrepreneurship and cultural and artistic performance services.

The agreement aims to leverage the vital role of Inner Mongolia Arts University in art creation, cultural industry research and development to promote local culture and art development and drive the economic, social and cultural growth of the zone.

Meanwhile, the zone will support Inner Mongolia Arts University to accelerate the construction of its new campus and supporting facilities. The university will also strive to become an art academy with high art application levels and improve its multi-function practical teaching mode, which is centered on practice, research and development and communication.

Inner Mongolia Arts University is the only comprehensive higher art institution in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region and it has been in operation for more than 60 years. It has cultivated many artistic talents who have contributed to the prosperity of culture and art and economic and social development in the autonomous region.
