Inner Mongolia People's Congress opens

The first plenary of the 14th Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Congress officially kicked off in Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Jan 12.
The plenary will last four and a half days and close on Jan 16.
A total of four plenary meetings and four presidium meetings have been arranged for this plenary, with a total of 14 agenda items.
The deputies will listen to and review the work report of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Government. They will also review and report on its 2022 national economic and social development, and propose and vote on its 2023 national economic and social development plan.

In addition, the deputies will review Inner Mongolia's 2022 budget performance, and draft and approve its 2023 budget. They will also listen to and review work reports from the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Congress, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Higher People's Court, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Procuratorate.
Another important agenda item to be done during these sessions is to hold an election for the members of the standing committee of the 14th Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Congress.
