A Russian truck carrying matryoshka dolls successfully entered China through the China-Russia Trade Zone in Manzhouli city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, at 11 am on Feb 16.

This truck signifies that the Manzhouli trade zone has officially resumed customs clearance operation after three years of suspension due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and has achieved normal operations.

The China-Russia Trade Zone in Manzhouli is a national development zone that was approved by the State Council in 1992.

After years of opening-up and development, the zone has achieved a series of developmental achievements in terms of system and mechanism innovation, foreign cooperation and exchanges, and modern and intelligent park construction.

Since the implementation of in-depth opening-up measures in 2016, exchanges and cooperation with Russia in the zone have continued to increase. Border trade exchanges have become increasingly active and trade volume has also risen rapidly, bringing economic and social benefits.
