Manzhouli Port, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, oversaw the departure of the 20,000th China Railway Express train on April 16. The train was loaded with clothes, water heaters, and mobile phone accessories, and is bound for Europe.

This is a significant achievement for Manzhouli Port, the largest land port in China, since it started China-Europe railway transactions in 2013.

This year also marks the 10th year since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed.

Over the past 10 years, the number of China Railway Express trains leaving and entering the country through Manzhouli Port increased annually, accounting for about 30 percent of the total port traffic in the country.

At present, the outbound destinations of the China Railway Express trains through Manzhouli Port have expanded from the initial few countries to 13 European countries such as Russia, Belarus, Germany, and Belgium. The inbound trains arrive in more than 60 domestic cities in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and others.

Moving forward, Manzhouli Port will continue to improve its customs clearance efficiency and service quality.
