Ereenhot-Zamyn-Uud Economic Cooperation Zone boosts bilateral ties
At the Investment Promotion Conference of the Ereenhot-Zamyn-Uud Economic Cooperation Zone recently held in Beijing, Chinese and Mongolian enterprises signed agreements totaling 4.32 billion yuan.
The establishment of the Ereenhot-Zamyn-Uud Economic Cooperation Zone has been instrumental in advancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
In March of this year, the Ereenhot-Zamyn-Uud Economic Cooperation Zone received official approval from the State Council, making it the third cross-border economic cooperation zone jointly established by China and a neighboring country.
The Chinese side will focus on the development of international trade, logistics, import-export processing, cross-border tourism, and related services, while the Mongolian side will focus on the development of bulk commodity logistics, import-export processing, international trade, and cultural tourism, leveraging resource, location, and policy advantages.
Director Fan Lijun of the Belt and Road Research Institute at the Inner Mongolia Academy of Social Sciences remarked, "This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia.”
"With the impetus of large projects such as the economic cooperation zone, the prospects for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries have grown, and cultural exchanges are becoming even more closely intertwined," Fan added.
