Manzhouli Port achieves cargo clearance goal 20 days ahead of schedule
Manzhouli Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has actively contributed to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor this year, resulting in a significant increase in cargo throughput.
As of May 30, the total customs clearance volume at the port reached 10.04 million metric tons, marking a 15.1 percent year-on-year increase and meeting its 10-million-ton target 20 days ahead of schedule.
Specifically, the railway port handled 9.22 million tons of cargo, a 13.1 percent year-on-year growth rate, while the road port processed 820,000 tons of cargo, a remarkable 45.2 percent year-on-year increase.
In order to further drive high-quality development at the port and enhance the facilitation of cross-border trade, various inspection and transportation departments at the port have been continuously improving transport organization, enhancing transshipment efficiency, optimizing customs clearance procedures, reducing operational steps, and ensuring smooth customs clearance processes.
The railway port has introduced innovative supervision models and actively promoted the application of the "Railway Fast Clearance" model.
This includes pre-auditing and transferring customs clearance data, as well as convenient measures such as "delayed, off-peak + 24/7 appointment inspection," all aimed at minimizing clearance time to the fullest extent.
Efforts to optimize the traffic capacity at the railway port have led to ongoing improvements in transport organization measures, significantly reducing cross-operation and waiting time.
This has resulted in a 25 percent increase in cargo transshipment customs clearance time, with the transshipment operation time reduced from 10 hours to eight hours.
