Inner Mongolia's boxer Yang Liu advances to finals at Paris Olympics
In the early hours of Aug 7, Beijing time, Inner Mongolian athlete Yang Liu triumphed over Chinese Taipei's contestant Chen Nianqin with a score of 4:1 in the women's 66kg boxing semi-finals of the Paris Olympics, securing her spot in the finals.
Yang had already faced Chen Nianqin three times before, emerging victorious each time with a noticeable advantage.
At 4:51 am on Aug 10, Beijing time, Yang is set to compete against Algerian athlete Imane Khelif for the coveted gold medal. Khelif stands as one of the most controversial athletes at this year's Olympics, promising to push Yang's defensive and adaptive skills to their limits.
At the Paris Olympics, the Chinese women's boxing team has given a remarkable performance, with four out of the six participating athletes already making the finals.
Inner Mongolian athlete Li Qian has also advanced to the women's 75kg semi-finals and will strive for a spot in the finals on Aug 9 at 4 am Beijing time.
