Inner Mongolia athletes win 9 medals at Asian Winter Games

The 9th Asian Winter Games concluded on Feb 14. Athletes from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region made an impressive showing, bringing home four gold, two silver, and three bronze medals, along with one fourth-place finish.
Held from Feb 7 to 14 in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, the Games included 10 athletes from Inner Mongolia – Han Mei, Xu Meng, Li Zhichao, Bao Lin, Hu Weiyao, Gu Cang, Gou Zhendong, Song Chen, Yang Lianhong, and Chi Yanmin – who competed in a total of 13 speed skating, curling, cross-country skiing, and biathlon events.

A representative from the Inner Mongolia Winter Sports Center highlighted the significance of this achievement: "This was the largest delegation Inner Mongolia has ever sent to the Asian Winter Games, and it marks our first-ever gold medal at the event."
