North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region plans to build six new tourist roads in 2026, with a combined length of 408 kilometers, further expanding its tourist road network and cultivating a new group of routes that combine convenient transportation with scenic beauty.

The planned routes include the S237 line in Hohhot, the G111 line in Tongliao city, the S530 line in Chifeng, the S533 line in Ulaanqab, the G331 line in Bayannuur, and another section of the G331 line in Xiliin Gol League.

In addition to road construction, Inner Mongolia will also develop a "transportation + culture and tourism" supply-demand matchmaking platform, open dedicated bus routes to key scenic areas, and provide shuttle services for cultural and tourism events.

A range of tailored travel products will be introduced, including tourist trains, aviation express routes, and chartered passenger flights, to meet the diverse needs of different groups.

By the end of 2025, all A-level scenic areas rated 3A and above in Inner Mongolia were connected by graded roads. A number of distinctive tourist roads, including the G331 National Road – known as one of China's most scenic border routes – were popular among road trippers.

Meanwhile, 23 tourism-oriented service areas and six high-quality model service area pairs were developed.
