Authorities are currently evaluating the latest work being done to the G6 Highway in Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with all the tasks listed on in the design plans having been completed, according to an April 21 report in the Baotou Daily.
Officials said the G6 Highway Qingshan Toll Station is currently under project acceptance, with Inner Mongolia High-grade Highway Construction and Development Co undertaking the evaluation.
Preparations are also currently being made for a new electronic toll collection, or ETC, lane in accordance with requirements put forward by the company.
Officials said the ETC design has been completed and construction will start in mid-May.
The highway project, with a total budget of 168 million yuan ($23.72 million), focuses on the Qingshan section in Baotou.
It will be the eighth exit for the G6 Highway Baotou section following the Meidaizhao, Salaqi, Baotou East, Jiuyuan, Baotou, Baogang and Baotou West exits.
Officials said it is part of the support transport facilities for Baotou Modern Transportation Logistics Park.
They said that after the project is completed, the highway will better serve Qingshan district, Jiuyuan district and Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park.
It is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of their logistics -- and to provide convenient logistics channels for companies such as Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group and Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group.
Trucks in Qingshan district will no longer need to detour and exit from the Jiuyuan and Baogang toll stations.
