Jiuyuan district to add energy logistics supply chain

Updated: 2020-07-17

An energy logistics supply chain is to settle in Jiuyuan district in Baotou city -- in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- following an agreement signed by the district government and Jiangsu Chenhua Energy Co on July 3, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

The project mainly includes the oil products integrated services, a China-Europe freight train service and scheduled air transportation to Europe -- as well as a Belt and Road Initiative trade commodities processing industrial park.

Officials said that after the project is launched, the first year is expected to realize an operating income of 1.5 billion yuan ($214 million), net profit of 60 million yuan and tax revenue of 20 million yuan.

It is also expected to help 500 people find employment.

A logistics industry supply chain will also be formed in the Jiuyuan (International) Logistics Park.

Officials said wood, coal, grain and livestock processing will operate there. They said this will see the development of upstream and downstream industries, which in turn will promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries in Baotou city.
