Baotou marks Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival

Baotou, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, marked the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival with a range of events held on Sept 22, according to local media reports.
In recent years, Baotou has made every effort to promote agricultural and rural development, continue to optimize the environmental appearance of its rural pastoral areas, and constantly improve the development level of modern agriculture and animal husbandry.
The income of farmers and herdsmen has increased steadily.

This year, the sown area of crops in Baotou city reached 4.61 million mu (307,333 hectares), an increase of 180,000 mu from the same period last year. The grain output is expected to reach 1.2 billion kilograms, an increase of 30 million kilograms over the same period last year.
The activities brought together characteristic agricultural products from the banners and counties under Baotou's administration. Online live-streaming promotional events were held to boost sales of the agricultural products.
