Your guide to living in China - Accommodation

There are three main types of accommodation when you study in China. Depends on location and room type, on-campus dormitory should be the least expensive option. Generally speaking, accommodation fee is higher in major cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.  

Dormitory ($)

Most of the universities have dormitories for foreign students, both double rooms and single rooms are available. Most of the dormitory rooms have basic furniture, private bath, air-conditioning, telephone, TV set and internet access. Public laundry, kitchen and computer room are also available.

Accommodation fee of university dormitory are paid by semester and will not be refunded if you leave during the semester.

Apartment ($$)

There are fully furnished apartments with one, two and three bedrooms nearby the campus. In some universities, student apartments are available on campus.

International Student Hotel ($$$)

There are three-star hotels and serviced apartments provide long-term stay package for foreign students. Reservation should be made before you arrive in China.
