Situated to the west of Changjiang Road and the north of Yingang Road within Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, Taicang Biological Bay is planned to cover around 167 square kilometer of land and 183,000 square meter of floorage. It is a specialized industrial park invested and built by the Development Zone. It is going to promote the emerging industries of in-vitro diagnostic reagents, medical equipment and consumables. The bay is a part of the move to foster health-care and medical industries and promote industrial transformation.  With priorities in pioneering industries such as ultra-early detection of cultured genes, reagents for in-vitro diagnosis, and R&D of macro-molecular drugs, it aims to become a first-class domestic bio-diagnosis industrial park and aims to form an investment promotion system including a startup incubator, a business accelerator, and an innovation space.
