Driving along the Yangtze River in Taicang, a county-level city in East China's Jiangsu province, is a popular way to beat the summer heat.

The 38.8-kilometer route consists of four scenic spots – Baimaokou wetland, Taicang-Haimen Car Ferry, Taicang Port and Jiangtan Wetland Park.

The Baimaokou wetland abounds with large forests and shallows, providing an ideal habitat for rare birds such as Grey-headed Lapwing and herring gulls.

An education base showcasing a variety of fishery products and birds that live in the Yangtze River was also set up in the wetland.
