In order to improve the atmospheric and water environments and promote the sustainable, stable and healthy development of the livestock and poultry breeding industries, Jinpu New Area strictly followed the principle of "reduction, harmlessness and resource utilization"to solidly rectify livestock and poultry breeding pollution.

The New Area investigated the pollution control situation of farm households above designated size and farmers on both sides of the river, and issued a rectification notice so that farm households could know the time limit and requirements for rectification. Meanwhile, professionals were organized to provide on-the-spot guidance.

The New Area has established the roster and ledger of livestock and poultry farms above designated size and within 1,000 meters on both sides of the river, and determined the rectification plan and requirements based on the on-the-spot investigation.

Jinpu New Area focused on the law enforcement inspection of the supporting pollutioncontrol facilities rectification, actively guided the aquaculture employees to strengthen environmental awareness, and promoted the effective treatment of livestock and poultry manure. A total of 45 livestock and poultry farm households were investigated and five cases of environmental violations were investigated and punished with the penalty amount reaching more than 200,000 yuan ($30,800).

The New Area will establish and improve the joint inspection mechanism of ecological environment departments and agricultural and rural departments, build a supervision system for pollution control of livestock and poultry breeding in agriculture-related streets, promote the extension of the supervision system from streets to villages, and clarify the village-level normal management of pollution control of livestock and poultry breeding.

The New Area will also strengthen operation and maintenance management, improve the third-party operation and maintenance mechanisms of rural livestock and poultry manure treatment facilities, and guide and encourage related practitioners to actively participate in the resource utilization of livestock and poultry breeding waste.
