A total of 140 imported hydrogen fuel cell vehicles were transported from Dalian port in Northeast China's Liaoning province by road to Beijing and Zhangjiakou recently. These vehicles will serve the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

This is the first time that China has imported hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Mirai, Toyota's second-generation hydrogen-powered vehicles, will arrive at traffic stations in downtown Beijing, Yanqing district and Zhangjiakou, designated by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.

Liaoning Port Group, the company that manages the Dalian port, has been working closely with Toyota.

The liner routes for imports of Toyota vehicles reach five classes a month with an annual transport volume of about 16,000 vehicles.

Earlier this year, the group launched a transit transportation project which included China's first vehicles multimodal transport channel from East Asia to Central Asia, laying a foundation for the first imported hydrogen vehicles.

On Aug 22, Dalian Automobile Terminal Co Ltd in Jinpu New Area completed the unloading of the first imported Mirai.
