A new innovative mechanism launched by the Dalian Free Trade Zone that improves the efficiency of marine pollutant transportation was recently shortlisted among the top ten innovation cases of all Chinese free trade zones in the year 2020-2021.
The good news came on top of Dalian FTZ's big win recently as the best free trade zone in the Asia-Pacific region.
The latest news was announced at the 8th Sun Yat-sen University Free Trade Zone High-end Forum held on Nov 20 in Guangzhou. Experts said that the new mechanism, officially named “Green Channel for the Transportation of Marine Pollutants”, could help enterprises significantly reduce costs while also observe international maritime transportation rules for dangerous goods.
By one account, the new mechanism could save enterprises about $ 3.75 million in economic costs and reduce logistics time by about 6,000 days per year.
The Dalian Free Trade Zone is a big supporter for innovation and has launched more than 380 institutional innovation achievements since its listing in April 2017.
