A launch ceremony for self-driving buses was held on Jan 21 at Jinshitan National Tourist Resort in the Jinpu New Area. The first set of 10 licenses for test driverless service in Northeast China were officially issued at the ceremony, launching Jinpu’s driverless service operation.

The test bus route starts from Jinshitan Express Railway Station and proceeds for 4.5 kilometers along Jinshi Road, Nanhu Street, Lihu Road, Lishan loop and Jinshi Road, forming a closed loop. The route will reach tourist distribution centers, such as Dalian Discoveryland Theme Park and an express rail station, near Jinshitan Golden Coast, to meet the transportation needs of tourists and improve the quality of tourism services.

This project is being constructed by Jinpu, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and Baidu Apollo. In recent years, the Jinpu New Area has continued to deepen new infrastructure construction, such as its Smart City program, 5G smart light poles and 5G base station signal towers, laying a solid foundation for the project’s construction.
