The 20th Anniversary of Sino-foreign Cooperative Education at Dalian University and the Forum on the Cultivation of Qualified International Talents took place at Dalian University on Oct 16.

The International College of Dalian University was established in May 2003, undertaking the joint education programs between Dalian University and Southern Cross University (SCU), a public university based in Lismore, Australia. The college offers two undergraduate majors - accounting and tourism management - and adopts a 3-1 educational model.

Over the past two decades, Dalian University and SCU have cooperated closely, continuously integrating their culture and development philosophy, complying with educational laws, respecting their differences, and innovating in the areas of educational model and teaching methods. The two universities have been adjusting and improving their respective academic evaluation systems, credit management systems, course evaluation systems and management systems. These efforts have promoted the standardization, institutionalization and internationalization of teaching management and helped the universities explore new models for the cultivation of high-quality international talents.

Up to now, the International College of Dalian University has cultivated over 3,000 graduates. Among those graduates who choose to continue their education abroad, 80 percent go on to pursue their master's degree at QS Top 100 Universities, such as the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Sydney. Currently, the college has approximately 900 full-time students.
