On Jan 2, a container ship, named "WAN HAI 357", arrived at the Dalian Port Container Terminal in Jinpu New Area, marking the "Dalian Port-South America West" container route officially entering operation.

The new route linking Dalian port with ports in Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and other countries, is set to expedite the entry of cold chain goods, such as seafood and fruits, from South America into northeast China's market, further solidifying Dalian Port's position as the cold chain distribution center in northeast China.

In recent years, economic and trade exchanges between China and countries in South America have become increasingly close. The new route is Liaoning Port Group's first container route to south America. It effectively meets the transportation needs arising from the rapid growth in trade between Northeast China and the South America. This route establishes a stable, fast, and cost-effective direct shipping channel, facilitating economic and trade exchanges between the two regions.
