Invispower demonstrates new wireless charging technology
A commissioning ceremony for Invispower Nantong Intelligent Manufacturing Base was held in Gangzha district, Nantong city, on Jan 27, with the launch of new wireless charging technology for electric vehicles.
Jiangsu Invispower Co, which is invested by Tsinghua Holdings Co, specializes in the core technology of wireless charging, with its product market share exceeding 60 percent. It is a primary supplier of 21 automakers, including BAIC Motor and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.
During the event, Invispower demonstrated the new technology to fascinated attendees. The firm was keen to highlight its product's ingress protection and distance offset tolerance.
As the production and sales of new energy vehicles are increasing, the wireless charging technology that Invispower has developed will greatly reduce problems in new energy vehicle charging, argued Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Motor.
With a planned total investment of 650 million yuan ($96.49 million) from the company, Invispower Nantong Intelligent Manufacturing Base covers an area of 2.93 hectares and involves a construction area of about 5.5 hectares in Gangzha's Shibei High-Tech Park.
Following nine months of work, the first stage of the base has already been completed, with a 1.4-hectare plant put into production. The new facility mainly manufactures basic materials for wireless charging, which is expected to fill a gap in the domestic production field.
It's estimated that the annual production capacity of the base will reach 4 million sets of automotive wireless charging chips and modules once the whole base is put into production, with annual sales amounting to around 1 billion yuan.
So far, Jiangsu Invispower Co has reached technical partnerships with many domestic auto companies and the mass production of wireless charging new energy vehicles will soon be realized.
In recent years, Gangzha District has been developing a new industrial base, with modern industries such as intelligent driving, integrated circuits, and intelligent equipment manufacturing leading its booming economy. Indeed, the success of the district is largely thanks to the local government's work to optimize the business environment and encourage innovation.
It has attracted more than 20 electronic information companies including Invispower and Zhuhai ACCESS Semiconductor Co. The output value of the electronic information industry in the district is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan by 2020, making the district a leading electronic information cluster in Nantong city.
The Invispower Nantong Intelligent Manufacturing Base will play an important role in accelerating the development of electronic information and the intelligent driving industries in Gangzha district, and throughout the whole city.
